Morphological Features of Autism
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) represent complex neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by impairments in reciprocal social interactions, abnormal development and use of language, and monotonously repetitive behaviors. With an estimated heritability of more than 90%, it is the most strongly genetically influenced psychiatric disorder of the young age. In spite of the complexity of this dis...
متن کاملMorphological Features of Cell Death Through Microscopic View
Cells are active components in their environment and constantly adjusting their performance to improve extracellular milieu changing. This approach is reflected their tends of maintaining intracellular homeostasis. When the cells encounter stress or pathologic stimuli, they can undergo a new manner (adaptation) and new steady state for achieving viability and function. If the external stress is...
متن کاملMorphological features of cell death.
Cell death is discriminated into two main forms: apoptosis and necrosis. In contrast to necrosis, apoptosis is a regulated, energy-dependent form of cell death leading to phagocytosis of cellular remnants by neighboring cells. Characteristic morphological features of these two forms of cell death will be discussed and correlated to underlying molecular mechanisms.
متن کاملThe correlation of morphological features of chest computed tomographic scans with clinical characteristics of thymoma.
OBJECTIVES Chest computed tomography (CT) scanning has been widely utilized in thymoma identification and staging as well as in follow-up monitoring for recurrence. However, the relationship between some CT imaging features and pathological types, clinical stage, completeness of resection, or prognosis in thymoma has not been well explored. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed preoperative CT ...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of Morphological and other Texture Features for the Characterization of Atherosclerotic Carotid Plaques
The extraction of features characterizing the structure of atherosclerotic carotid plaques, obtained by high-resolution ultrasound imaging is important for the correct plaque classification and the estimation of the risk of stroke. In this study morphological features were extracted and compared with the well-known texture features spatial gray level dependence matrices (SGLDM), gray level diff...
